Brewers Manager Vows Aggressive Approach Against Dodgers Ace Skubal

Milwaukee Brewers manager Pat Murphy has signaled an aggressive strategy for Game 1 of the National League Championship Series, stating a strong desire to pressure Dodgers starting pitcher Tarik Skubal.

"I just want to step on his throat," Murphy said regarding Skubal, adding, "I mean that respectfully."

The Brewers' offense aims to capitalize on any potential mistakes made by Skubal, who was a significant acquisition for the Dodgers at the trade deadline. Skubal joined Los Angeles from the Tigers and has since posted a 2.61 ERA with 70 strikeouts over 61 innings pitched.

Skubal is set to start Game 1 for the Dodgers at American Family Field. He will face a Brewers lineup known for its strong offensive performance. Milwaukee will rely on quality at-bats and fundamental small-ball tactics to challenge Skubal.

On the mound for the Brewers will be National League Cy Young candidate Jacob Misiorowski, who is expected to pose a significant challenge to the Dodgers' lineup. This series marks a tougher test for the Dodgers compared to their 2025 NLCS sweep of the Brewers.
