Brewers Complete NLCS Sweep, End Dodgers' Dynasty

The Milwaukee Brewers have advanced to the World Series for the first time since 1982, completing a dominant 4-0 sweep of the Los Angeles Dodgers in the National League Championship Series. The Brewers secured their berth with a dramatic 6-4 comeback victory in Game 4 on Thursday night, effectively ending what many considered a burgeoning Dodgers dynasty.

The Dodgers, who entered the series as favorites and were seeking their third straight championship, took an early 4-0 lead in Game 4. Shohei Ohtani ignited the offense in the second inning with a three-run home run, his first of the postseason, extending the lead after an RBI single from Andy Pages.

However, the Brewers' offense, which had shown flashes of brilliance throughout the series, responded emphatically. In the fourth inning, Jake Bauers delivered a two-RBI double, narrowing the deficit. The team then rallied in the fifth, capitalizing on walks and a clutch hit from David Hamilton to tie the game at 4-4.

Milwaukee's formidable bullpen, which has been a key factor in their postseason success, shut down the Dodgers' potent lineup. JoJo Romero pitched a clean top of the fifth, and Garrett Mitchell then hit a go-ahead home run in the sixth inning.

Despite opportunities to come back, the Dodgers struggled with runners in scoring position, going 2-for-11 in such situations by the eighth inning. Edwin Diaz surrendered a crucial home run to David Hamilton in the ninth, sealing the Brewers' victory.

The Brewers' bullpen has been a revelation, allowing just two runs over nearly 40 innings in the postseason. Their regular-season ERA of 3.40 has transformed into an almost spotless performance in October.

For the Dodgers, the loss marks a disappointing end to a season that saw them win 103 regular-season games but falter in the clutch moments of the NLCS. The sweep underscores the unpredictable nature of postseason baseball, where momentum and timely hitting can overcome even the most decorated rosters.
