Brewers Address 'Timeless Ticket' Controversy Amid World Series Run

The Milwaukee Brewers are working to resolve a controversy surrounding their "Timeless Ticket" promotion after fans who purchased the $1,000 passes over a decade ago encountered difficulties redeeming them for the World Series.

The promotion, which offered a ticket to any future game for a $1,000 investment, has become a point of contention as the Brewers compete in the World Series for the first time since 1982. Several hundred fans indicated their intent to use these tickets, but the team acknowledged internal communication issues led to logistical problems in fulfilling the requests.

Brewers president of business operations Rick Schlesinger stated that while all fans were accommodated with seats, some expressed dissatisfaction with their locations. "Clearly, even with extraordinary limitations on available seats, we did not live up to the spirit of the program, and we have been working through a resolution," Schlesinger said.

One such fan, Danny Fochesato, purchased a Timeless Ticket in 2015 with the explicit intention of using it for a World Series game. The promotion's terms stated that tickets could be redeemed for the "best available seat locations, subject to ticket availability at the time of redemption." Fochesato recalled sales representatives emphasizing priority seating just behind season ticket holders.

In 2018, when the Brewers reached the NL Championship Series, Fochesato was able to redeem his ticket and received four seats in the 100 level behind home plate. However, for the current World Series, the redemption process offered only 400-level or standing-room options.

"We had a form, and it only had 400-level or standing-room options," Fochesato recounted. "We couldn’t even know what game we had. We just had to put a preference of which ones we wanted, and then we had to submit the form and just sit and wait for them what we got. I immediately was like, ‘No, that’s bogus.’"

Fochesato reported securing three 400-level seats for Game 2 and one lower-level seat for Game 1, noting that better seats were available through the public sale.

To address the backlash, the Brewers announced that any Timeless Ticket holder who applied for World Series tickets by the deadline will now be allowed to keep their World Series seats and will also retain their Timeless Ticket for redemption in a future season. "We regret our mistake and look forward to welcoming them to American Family Field for their World Series experience," Schlesinger added.
