Poison frontman Bret Michaels recently underwent emergency surgery to address a severe kidney stone that caused him "intense" pain for a week. The 63-year-old rocker shared an update on Facebook, detailing how he performed three concerts before the pain became unbearable and necessitated hospitalization.

Michaels described the ordeal in a Facebook post, stating he experienced seven days of excruciating pain from a kidney stone that would not pass. Despite the discomfort, he continued with his solo tour, performing on July 4 in Charleston, West Virginia; July 11 in Grantville, Pennsylvania; and a private show at Fairchild Air Force Base in Spokane, Washington, on July 18. He was admitted to the hospital immediately after the July 18 performance when the stone failed to pass and the pain intensified.

Following the surgery, Michaels posted a photo from his hospital bed, smiling and giving an "all good" hand sign. He expressed "complete gratitude" for the hospital staff who cared for him. "The operation has been done and is complete & I’m out of post-op recovery, and I’m doing everything within my power to feel better and continue playing great shows for great fans when I’ve got a complete clean bill of health," he wrote.

Michaels had previously canceled a performance at the Freedom 250 concert on May 29, citing political divisiveness and security concerns. He has several upcoming solo dates scheduled, including performances in Interlochen, Michigan, on July 30, and Belleville, Illinois, on July 31, with more dates planned for August and September.

Looking ahead, Michaels expressed his hope to reunite Poison for a tour in 2027. This follows previous tour plans that were reportedly halted due to disagreements over finances, with drummer Rikki Rockett suggesting Michaels sought a larger share of the profits. Michaels, however, has downplayed any drama, stating his love for his bandmates and his belief that a reunion tour in 2027 will be successful. He indicated he and Rockett would discuss potential dates soon.

He also mentioned his gratitude for both the Bret Michaels Band and Poison, suggesting he could potentially manage both endeavors.
