Poison frontman Bret Michaels recently underwent a procedure to remove a kidney stone that would not pass on its own after nearly seven days of enduring intense pain. He shared his health update on Facebook, thanking the medical professionals who cared for him.
Michaels revealed that he continued performing concerts in Charleston, West Virginia, Grantville, Pennsylvania, and a private show at Fairchild Air Force Base in Spokane, Washington, for veterans and their families, despite the escalating discomfort. The morning after his third performance, he was admitted to the hospital as the pain became unmanageable.
"The operation has been done and is complete & I’m out of post-op recovery," Michaels stated on Facebook, assuring fans that he is working to recover quickly and resume playing shows. He also expressed gratitude for the support of family, friends, fans, doctors, and nurses.
Michaels first shared news of his discomfort on Instagram on July 19, following his show at Fairchild AFB, noting that the kidney stone was "kicking my butt at the end of the show." Fans offered messages of support and wished him a speedy recovery in the comments section of his social media posts.
In other recent news, Michaels made headlines in June when he publicly supported his 26-year-old daughter, Raine, selling pictures of her feet on the platform FeetFinder, calling it a "brilliant decision."
