Rock musician Bret Michaels has canceled all remaining concert dates for 2026 due to a need for extended recovery time after emergency kidney stone surgery. His team announced that the 63-year-old frontman requires several months to heal and return to full health.

Michaels' doctors stated that they are pulling him off the road "for the time being." They cited the need for a "much-needed period of rest and slow recovery," particularly noting the potential impact of summer heat and humidity on his blood sugar levels.

The decision follows Michaels' attempt to perform a show in Sugar Hill, Georgia, shortly after his surgery. Despite his desire to continue performing, medical professionals determined he needed to halt his touring schedule. In a statement on social media, Michaels' team expressed apologies to fans, stating their focus is on his healthy return.

Michaels himself acknowledged in comments that his "nonstop spirit to go out & do what I love" might have led him to perform sooner than advisable. He conveyed gratitude for the supportive messages from fans, friends, and medical staff.

This recent health issue comes weeks after Michaels revealed he underwent emergency surgery for a debilitating kidney stone. He had performed three concerts in a week while experiencing intense pain before the procedure. The singer shared on social media in July that he was admitted to the hospital immediately after a show when the pain became unbearable and the stone would not pass.

Michaels had been on his Live and Amplified solo tour. Prior to these cancellations, he had also withdrawn from the President Donald Trump-supported Freedom 250 concert in May, citing political divisiveness and security concerns.

Separately, Michaels has expressed hopes for a Poison reunion tour in 2027. The band's previous plans for a return were reportedly stalled due to disagreements over finances, though Michaels remains optimistic about a 2027 tour.
