Brendan Fraser and Rachel Weisz Reunite on "Mummy 4" Set
The co-stars are back together filming a new installment of the franchise, 25 years after their last on-screen appearance.
Brendan Fraser and Rachel Weisz have been photographed together on the set of "The Mummy 4," marking their reunion 25 years after they last appeared together in "The Mummy Returns."
The co-stars were seen filming a scene in London, with Weisz portraying Evelyn Carnahan in a maroon coat and skirt, while Fraser, as Rick O’Connell, wore a corduroy jacket, flannel shirt, and jeans.
Fraser and Weisz first starred as O’Connell and Carnahan in the original "The Mummy" in 1999, followed by the sequel "The Mummy Returns" in 2001. In the films, their characters fall in love and marry.
Weisz did not participate in the third film, "The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor," released in 2008, with Maria Bello taking over the role of Evelyn. Weisz cited a scheduling conflict at the time, as the film required a five-month commitment in China, which clashed with another project she had committed to.
News of Weisz and Fraser's potential return for "The Mummy 4" emerged in November 2025 and was confirmed three months later. In September, initial images of Fraser and Weisz on set were released, though they were photographed separately. Fraser was filming at a former military base in Suffolk, England, while Weisz was seen working in London.
The upcoming film is directed by Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett. Originally slated for a May 2028 release, the film is now scheduled to premiere on October 15, 2027.
In addition to Fraser and Weisz, original cast members Oded Fehr, John Hannah, and Kevin J. O’Connor are also returning. They will be joined by new cast members Michael Johnston and Numan Acar.
