Braxton Berrios Out for Season With Season-Ending Surgery

New York Giants wide receiver Braxton Berrios will miss the remainder of the season after undergoing surgery for a foot/ankle injury, the team announced Tuesday.

Berrios revealed the news on Instagram, expressing his disappointment. "Two of my last three seasons ended this way, and I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t miserable right now," Berrios wrote. "I felt I belonged here this year and everything finally fell in place, now it feels like everything I’ve poured into the last 9 months is gone in the blink of an eye."

The injury marks another setback for the receiver, whose previous seasons have also been cut short. Berrios finishes the current season with four punt returns, five kickoff returns, and no receptions on one target. He is set to become a free agent.

Charlie Jones is expected to fill Berrios's role as the primary returner and depth receiver. The Giants have also added Dontae Fleming to their practice squad along with receivers Dalen Cambre and Jalin Hyatt.
