Bravo star Stephanie Shojaee has shared new details about a distressing break-in at her luxury villa in the South of France, which she described as "absolutely disgusting." Shojaee, known for her appearance on "The Real Housewives of Miami," revealed that thieves entered her rented villa and "went shopping in my closet" while she was attending a social event.
Shojaee reported the incident occurred on July 14 when she returned to the villa after celebrating Caroline Stanbury's birthday with fellow cast member Larsa Pippen. Upon entering her room, she discovered her belongings were missing. Shojaee believes Pippen's possessions were untouched because the intruders may not have been aware she was also staying at the villa.
Most concerning, the villa was occupied at the time of the alleged theft. Shojaee stated that her parents, security guards, and dogs were on the first floor while the break-in took place on the upper level. Fortunately, her family and pets were unharmed. She has since increased security measures at the villa, reporting that two additional intruders attempted to enter the property several days later but were unsuccessful.
Shojaee expressed suspicion that the incident may have been an "inside job," citing the intruders' apparent knowledge of her belongings' location, including her bags and safe. She shared screenshots of security footage showing masked individuals, which she posted on social media over the weekend. She also posted an image of a safe, calling it "useless" and suggesting it could be opened with hotel override cables, especially if someone provided information about the safe's type from within the villa.
The incident has been reported to authorities, and Shojaee provided a copy of the police report to The Daily Mail. The publication has reached out to French police and Larsa Pippen for comment.
Shojaee joined "The Real Housewives of Miami" for its seventh season. The series, which concluded its latest season in October, has faced reports of being paused by Bravo, with no firm plans announced for a potential eighth season. The show, originally commissioned in 2010, has undergone several iterations and cast changes throughout its run.
Amidst the unsettling experience, Shojaee emphasized the need for traveler awareness, stating, "It's just not safe. At this point it's about bringing awareness." She described feeling "super sad" for several days following the theft but remains thankful for her family's safety.
