Braves Pitcher Tyler Mahle Unleashes Profanity After Defensive Meltdown
Mahle's reaction was caught on camera following a costly error that allowed the Dodgers to tie the game.
Atlanta Braves pitcher Tyler Mahle was audibly frustrated and uttered expletives after a defensive miscue by shortstop Mauricio Dubón allowed Shohei Ohtani to score the tying run in Game 4 of the National League Division Series against the Los Angeles Dodgers.
The incident occurred in the second inning when Ohtani, who had reached base on a walk and advanced on a wild throw, was on third base. Max Muncy hit a routine pop fly into shallow left field, and Dubón appeared poised to make the catch. However, Dubón dropped his gaze from the ball at the last moment, allowing it to fall to the ground. Ohtani then scored, tying the game at 1-1.
FS1 cameras captured Mahle's reaction, which included the expletive "Are you f—— kidding me?".
Despite the defensive lapse, Mahle pitched well, completing 6 1/3 innings and allowing only one earned run on three hits with four strikeouts. However, the Dodgers ultimately secured a 4-1 victory, eliminating the Braves and advancing to the NL Championship Series.
