Brandon Miller Signs Five-Year, $209 Million Extension with Hornets

The Charlotte Hornets have agreed to a five-year, $209 million contract extension with forward Brandon Miller, according to multiple reports.

The deal was finalized minutes before the 6 p.m. deadline for extensions for players from the 2023 NBA Draft class. Had an agreement not been reached, Miller, who will soon turn 24, would have played the upcoming season on a team option and then become a restricted free agent next offseason.

Miller is coming off a career season in 2025-26, averaging 20.2 points and 4.9 rebounds per game, while shooting 38.3 percent from three-point range. He was a key contributor to the Hornets' surprise run to the play-in tournament before their elimination by the Orlando Magic.

This strong performance followed an injury-plagued second season. Miller remained mostly healthy during the 2025-26 campaign, despite undergoing shoulder surgery in May to address instability that caused him to miss time in November. He participated fully in the preseason and is expected to be in the starting lineup on Opening Night.

With the offseason trades of LaMelo Ball to the Timberwolves and Miles Bridges to the Suns, Miller is anticipated to take on a larger role in the team's scoring efforts. The Hornets are set to begin their regular season this week on the road against the Brooklyn Nets.
