Brandi Glanville to Undergo Exploratory Facial Surgery Amid Health Battle

Brandi Glanville is set to undergo exploratory surgery on Friday to address a facial disfigurement battle, stating she is "taking my face off" for the procedure.

The 53-year-old television personality revealed on her podcast, "Brandi Glanville Unfiltered," that the surgery will be performed by Dr. Carlo Henrado. Glanville explained that the procedure is intended to be a "power wash under my skin" to investigate what she believes could be "fungal balls or something alive."

She told her co-host James Maas that she suspects "it's alive" and "moves when it wants to." Dr. Henrado comes highly recommended, according to Glanville, and is performing the surgery for an additional $5,000 beyond what insurance will cover. Glanville expressed she is both "excited" and "scared" as she has never had facial surgery before, noting that this procedure is more intensive than a facelift.

According to a source cited by TMZ, Glanville will also undergo a 90-day antifungal IV treatment following the initial surgery. An insider told the outlet that she will have another surgery afterward to remove implants.

Earlier this month, Glanville first announced she had scheduled exploratory surgery to determine if she had a fungus or a "worm living in [her] face." This comes after she spent four years and over $113,000 attempting to treat what she believes to be a "facial parasite." Glanville also recently disclosed a diagnosis of "highly resistant ESBL Klebsiella and Enterobacter with biofilm, Coccidioidomycosis (Valley Fever), Demodex dermatitis and Mononucleosis."

Glanville explained that "balloons" will be placed into her Eustachian tubes during the procedure to allow doctors to examine the channels connecting her ear to her nose and upper throat, facilitating drainage. "I'm pretty sure there's some sort of worm living in my face but they said it's a fungus," she said, adding, "Funguses are alive as well and it's going down my body."

Despite her fear, Glanville stated she is "excited to just get my life back." Her health battle has led to an isolating period, with Glanville revealing in September that she stays at home "all day, every day." She has received support from fans and friends, including a GoFundMe launched by a pal and financial contributions from other Housewives.

This health ordeal follows personal heartbreak for Glanville. Earlier this month, she announced the death of her father, Guy, at the age of 77. In May, she had shared that her father was hospitalized and asked for prayers.
