Brandi Glanville's Father Dies Amid Her Facial Disfigurement Battle

Brandi Glanville, a personality known for her role on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, revealed on Saturday that her father, Guy Glanville, has died at the age of 77. She shared the news in an emotional post on the social media platform X, expressing deep sadness over the loss.

"My dad died, I'm gutted I hate this life right now," Glanville wrote, accompanied by a broken red heart emoji. The exact cause of his passing was not immediately disclosed.

Fellow reality television star Sonja Morgan offered condolences, writing, "So sorry you are going through this Brandi. Sending love and strength." A representative for Glanville did not immediately respond to requests for comment.

This personal tragedy comes as Glanville continues to navigate a challenging battle with facial disfigurement. Earlier in the week, she shared that she is scheduled for exploratory surgery to determine the cause of her condition, which she suspects might be a fungus or a parasitic organism.

"Something is in my face, eating it," Glanville stated on her podcast, "Brandi Glanville Unfiltered," describing her symptoms. She has reportedly spent significant time and money, over $113,000 in four years, seeking treatment for what she believes is a "facial parasite."

In May, Glanville had previously shared that her father was hospitalized, asking for prayers for him. At that time, she described both of them as "medical mysteries" and noted her father was in the cardiac unit for 13 days.

Glanville has spoken publicly about a complex relationship with her father, including a period of estrangement. They reunited for the 2018 series "Marriage Boot Camp: Reality Stars Family Edition," but Glanville later indicated they had not spoken since the show aired. She explained that her father was unaccustomed to the realities of television production and became upset by the edited portrayal of their time on the show.

Despite periods of distance, they had reconciled. In 2020, Guy Glanville publicly defended his daughter during her feud with Denise Richards, appearing in a video stating, "My daughter may be many things, sometimes an assh**, but she is not a liar."

Glanville's father is also survived by her siblings, Tricia and Michael.

Regarding her own health, Glanville detailed on her podcast that the upcoming surgery will involve inserting "balloons" into her Eustachian tubes to explore the connected channels in her face. The goal is to clear out blockages and facilitate drainage. She expressed a mix of fear and excitement about the procedure, hoping it will help her regain her health after years of struggling with undiagnosed issues. She recently revealed diagnoses including ESBL Klebsiella and Enterobacter with biofilm, Coccidioidomycosis (Valley Fever), Demodex dermatitis, and Mononucleosis. Glanville also noted feeling disconnected from her physical appearance, describing her neck as thick and her head as resembling a "Beetlejuice head" when watching herself on "Special Forces."

She has also received support from fellow Bravolebrities, including financial contributions through a GoFundMe page and medical advice from Yolanda Hadid. In September, Glanville expressed gratitude for the outpouring of support, stating, "I'm honestly overwhelmed by all the love and support." She acknowledged that asking for help is difficult for her but that the support gives her strength to continue fighting.
