Former "Real Housewives of Beverly Hills" star Brandi Glanville is facing criticism after commenting on her sons' lack of drug use, stating she finds them "boring" for never having tried cocaine and wishing they would "party a little more."
Glanville, 53, made the remarks on the latest episode of her podcast, "Brandi Glanville Unfiltered." She admitted that she herself had used cocaine in the past but stopped after fentanyl became prevalent.
During the discussion about drug use on reality television, Glanville said, "Well, I mean, let's be clear, we've all done cocaine in the '90s." She added, "I haven't since fentanyl came out." Glanville also mentioned purchasing drug testing strips for her sons, Mason, 23, and Jake, 19, when they went to college.
"Luckily, my kids don't do cocaine because they're boring," Glanville quipped on the podcast. "But that's okay, I love that they're boring, they don't even like to drink." She continued, "I'm like, "What do you do? Where's your life?" But I like it for them, not really... I just want them to party a little more."
Her comments quickly drew backlash on social media platform X. Users described the statement as "wild" and questioned the parenting sentiment. One user wrote, "Calling your kids 'boring' because they don't do hard drugs is wild." Another commented, "What kind of parent says this? Cocaine seems like an exceptionally dangerous drug to mess with these days given the prevalence of fentanyl."
Glanville shares her sons with ex-husband, actor Eddie Cibrian. The couple divorced in 2009 following reports of Cibrian's affair with singer LeAnn Rimes.
Earlier in the podcast episode, Glanville also discussed undergoing vaginal rejuvenation surgery after her divorce, stating it was a way to prevent further intimacy with her ex-husband. She claimed to have been one of the first patients for the procedure, working with Dr. David Matlock, whom she described as a pioneer in the surgery.
