Brandi Carlile Covers "Ted Lasso" Theme Song

Brandi Carlile, an 11-time Grammy winner, performed a cover of the "Ted Lasso" theme song for the show's Season 4 finale. The rendition was featured in the opening credits of the episode.

The original theme song was co-written and performed by Marcus Mumford of Mumford & Sons and composer Tom Howe. Carlile and Mumford are known collaborators, having previously worked together on Mumford's 2022 song "How."

While the exact details of Carlile's involvement in the "Ted Lasso" cover remain undisclosed, it is likely that her close working relationship with Mumford played a role. Additionally, the show's music supervisor, Christa Miller, has a prior working relationship with Carlile. Miller, who also stars in the Apple TV+ comedy "Shrinking," featured another Carlile song, "You Without Me," in the Season 3 finale of that series.

Miller shared in an interview that she had been eager to use "You Without Me" in "Shrinking" for two years. She ultimately secured the song despite competition from four other shows, a process she described as "buying it."

Carlile's cover of the "Ted Lasso" theme song has been described as beautiful and serves as a poignant closing note for the series' first women-focused season.
