Brady Quinn's Honey Habit: A Pregame Ritual Revealed

For former NFL quarterback Brady Quinn, honey has been more than just a natural sweetener; it's been a pregame ritual for years. On Fox's Big Noon Kickoff, Quinn revealed his practice of drinking honey straight from a bear-shaped bottle before college games.

"I grew up, wrestling and football early in the mornings, so my parents would give me this honey bottle, like a tablespoon of sugar [to get] a sugar high," Quinn, 42, explained from Iowa City before the matchup between the Hawkeyes and the Wisconsin Badgers.

His co-host and former Heisman winner Mark Ingram produced a bottle of honey, asking Quinn if it was similar to what he used. Quinn, seemingly prepared for the demonstration, opened the bottle and poured some down his throat, stating, "That's my pregame ritual." He added, "It's not bad."

Another co-host, former USC quarterback Matt Leinart, reacted with a simple, "That's disgusting."

Quinn's habit drew gasps from the crowd, but it stands in contrast to the widely publicized mayonnaise-in-coffee quirk of former Kentucky quarterback Will Levis. Levis' practice, revealed before his selection in the second round of the 2023 NFL Draft, sparked considerable discussion. He later played into the notoriety with a promotional advertisement for Hellmann's Mayonnaise.
