Brad Pitt's son Knox, 18, showcased a striking new hair color and style on Monday in Los Angeles. The change comes just hours after Pitt disclosed in an interview that he experienced suicidal thoughts stemming from his estrangement from his children.

Knox, who began using the surname Jolie in June, was seen with his hair dyed a vibrant red, styled in spikes with bleached blond shaved sides. He was observed jogging with friends following a Muay Thai training session. This appearance follows the release of an interview with Esquire UK where Pitt discussed his struggles.

Pitt, 62, spoke candidly about a period where he felt overwhelming pain, describing it as "oppressive." He clarified that he never acted on suicidal impulses but felt the pain intensely. "I just couldn’t – just didn’t see a way out," Pitt told the publication, explaining that the feeling was akin to seeking relief from suffering.

He confirmed to the interviewer that the "family stuff" was the subject of his remarks. The actor also expressed the importance of surrounding oneself with loved ones as one ages.

This development occurs amid ongoing estrangement within the Pitt-Jolie family. In June, Knox removed Pitt's last name from his high school diploma upon graduating from Fusion Academy in Los Angeles. His diploma was issued under the name Knox Jolie. He was supported at the graduation by his mother, Angelina Jolie, and siblings Pax, Vivienne, and Zahara.

Shiloh Jolie, 20, also legally removed her father's surname this past summer, now going by Shiloh Nouvel Jolie. In February, Maddox Jolie dropped Pitt from his professional credits for film productions. In May, Vivienne was credited as Vivienne Jolie for the Broadway musical The Outsiders.

Pitt and Jolie's decade-long relationship ended in divorce in 2016, with Jolie citing irreconcilable differences and accusing Pitt of abuse, which he has denied. Their contentious divorce proceedings were finalized in late 2024. The couple share six children: Maddox, Pax, Zahara, Shiloh, and twins Knox and Vivienne.
