According to sources close to Pitt, the "worst thing that ever happened to him" was his marriage to Jolie, which they claim sent his life "spiraling."
These claims come amid reports that Pitt has been distancing himself from Hollywood and its associated "constant drama." His reported decision to abstain from alcohol for seven years, including a period when he reportedly joined Alcoholics Anonymous, is now being re-examined by those close to him. A source told the Daily Mail, "Brad Pitt never had a drink problem, he had an Angelina Jolie problem."
