Two of actor Brad Pitt's children with Angelina Jolie have initiated legal proceedings to drop "Pitt" from their last names. Court documents obtained by the Daily Mail reveal that Zahara Marley Jolie-Pitt and Maddox Chivan Jolie-Pitt have both filed petitions in California to amend their surnames.

Zahara Marley Jolie-Pitt's petition aims to change her name to Zahara Marley Jolie. The filing was published in the Los Angeles Daily Journal throughout June and July, with a hearing scheduled for September 28. This follows a similar petition she filed in late June to change her name to Zahara Marley Jolie.

Maddox Chivan Jolie-Pitt's petition seeks to change his name to Maddox Chivan Jolie. His notice was also published in the Los Angeles Daily Journal during June and July, with a court date set for September 14. Maddox previously filed to drop Pitt's last name in late May.

In California, individuals seeking a legal name change must publish an Order to Show Cause in a newspaper for four consecutive weeks prior to their court date. Both petitions invite any dissenting parties to appear at the scheduled hearings.

The legal maneuvers regarding the children's names occur as Pitt's current relationship with Ines de Ramon has become more public. De Ramon and Pitt recently went Instagram official, with photos shared by hairstylist Laurie Zanoletti showing the couple in matching black outfits. The pair attended Taylor Swift's wedding to Travis Kelce at Madison Square Garden in New York City.

De Ramon, a 33-year-old jewelry designer, was seen on a dog walk in Los Angeles on Wednesday, wearing black shorts and a white T-shirt. During the outing, she purchased cigarettes and had previously visited a hair salon. The couple, who reportedly began their romance in 2022, were described as "besotted" in the social media posts.

Despite de Ramon's integration into Pitt's family, with sources stating they "absolutely adore her" and "consider her family," an insider told Page Six that Pitt has "no intention of getting married."

Pitt was previously married to Jennifer Aniston from 2000 to 2005. He then married Angelina Jolie in 2014, and they finalized their divorce in December 2024 after a 12-year relationship and two-year marriage, which involved numerous legal disputes.
