Brad Pitt, 62, was seen arriving at JFK Airport in New York City hand-in-hand with his girlfriend Ines de Ramon, 33, on Friday. The outing occurred after his ex-wife, Angelina Jolie, spoke publicly about her close bond with their children.

Pitt, who attended a screening in Los Angeles on Tuesday, was dressed in a grey cropped jacket and matching baggy pants, paired with a yellow checked fringed flannel shirt, a grey T-shirt, and yellow sneakers. He completed his look with a backwards cap and metal-framed aviator sunglasses. De Ramon wore a silky white blouse and matching bottoms, with her dark hair parted in the middle and dark black aviator shades.

This public appearance follows recent comments made by Jolie in L'Officiel USA, where she described her children as individuals who "know all sides of me." She also discussed her children Maddox, 25, and Pax, 22, working as assistant directors on her films, stating, "Obviously it’s nice for me to be around them, but I am just Mom, wanting to be around her family." Jolie expressed pride in her children's independence, adding, "As a parent, you try to do many things, but you also try to not get in the way of this human being who has a life separate from yours and so much potential in their own mind."

Jolie also clarified previous remarks about refraining from crying in front of her children until her work on the 2024 biopic "Maria." She explained that while she is known to cry easily, she would "hide" intense emotional pain from her children. She recounted enjoying a "wonderful shoot" in Italy for her war drama "Without Blood," starring Salma Hayek, where her children were also present in separate living quarters.

Additionally, Jolie shared her experience visiting her adopted daughter Zahara at Spelman College in Atlanta, Georgia. She described feeling honored and welcomed by the historically black institution, noting Zahara's transformation and its integration into their family. Jolie mentioned being informed about the significance of Zahara joining the sorority Alpha Kappa Alpha, calling it an "extraordinary place" that made their family proud.

As her children reach adulthood, Jolie expressed anticipation for more "connection and community" as an empty nester, envisioning more fieldwork and travel. She mused, "That’s definitely what my kids want! They had Mom when Mom needed to be Mom. Now, they’d like me to call them from Tunisia having just landed a plane to meet with local artists."

Meanwhile, Pitt has faced public estrangement from several of his children with Jolie. Vivienne, one of his youngest, recently filed a legal petition to change her surname from Jolie-Pitt to Jolie, citing "personal" reasons. This formalizes a change she had already adopted in practice, as seen in the playbill for "The Outsiders" where she was credited as Vivienne Jolie. All of their children, with the exception of Pax and Knox, have reportedly filed legal paperwork to drop Pitt's surname.

A source close to Jolie stated that "If people knew the whole truth, they would have more sympathy for the children and respect them," adding that Jolie "hasn’t been fighting and isn’t angry. She just wants everyone to heal." An insider told The Daily Mail that Pitt "believes Angelina's role in how things unfolded is the ultimate betrayal."

The couple, known as 'Brangelina,' became public in 2006 and married in 2014 before splitting in 2016, leading to a protracted legal battle over property and child custody. Jolie filed for divorce in September 2016, following an incident on a private plane involving their son Maddox. Allegations of Pitt's behavior during the flight, including pouring beer and red wine on Jolie and the children, were detailed in court documents filed by Jolie in 2022. A source close to Pitt dismissed these claims as a "media stunt meant to inflict pain."

Pitt has spoken about his struggles with alcohol, confessing in an interview that after seven years of sobriety, he had begun drinking again. Jolie, in court papers filed in April 2024, accused Pitt of abuse occurring "well before" the plane incident. The dispute over their shared winery, Chateau Miraval, in the South of France, continues, stemming from Jolie's sale of her stake to Russian billionaire Yuri Shefler in 2021 amid divorce proceedings. Pitt sued Jolie over the sale, asserting she was contractually obligated to obtain his consent. Jolie has cited Pitt's "acknowledged problem of alcohol abuse" as a factor in her decision to sell her share, and has urged Pitt to end the legal fight for the family's "healing."
