Brad Pitt, 62, was seen arriving at JFK Airport in New York City hand-in-hand with his girlfriend Ines de Ramon, 33. The appearance comes after reports of estrangement from his children and following comments from his ex-wife Angelina Jolie about her relationship with their kids.
Pitt and de Ramon were photographed at the airport, with Pitt wearing a grey cropped jacket and matching baggy pants, paired with a yellow checked fringed flannel, a grey T-shirt, and yellow sneakers. He completed his look with a backwards cap and metal-framed aviator sunglasses. De Ramon wore a silky white blouse and matching bottoms, with her dark hair down and black aviator shades.
This public appearance follows recent statements by Jolie, 51, who spoke about her bond with their children in an interview with L'Officiel USA. Jolie described her children as individuals who "know me pretty well" and "know all sides of me." She also commented on Maddox and Pax working as assistant directors on her films, stating, "Obviously it’s nice for me to be around them, but I am just Mom, wanting to be around her family."
Jolie elaborated on her parenting philosophy, saying, "As a parent, you try to do many things, but you also try to not get in the way of this human being who has a life separate from yours and so much potential in their own mind. You want to make sure that you support them."
The couple's children include Shiloh, 20, and twins Knox and Vivienne, 18, whom Pitt and Jolie biologically conceived, as well as adopted children Maddox, 25; Pax, 22; and Zahara, 21. In recent years, several of the children have taken steps to drop Pitt's surname, with Vivienne being the latest to file legal paperwork for the change.
Jolie also discussed her experiences directing the 2024 film "Maria," a biopic about Maria Callas. She clarified previous remarks about not crying in front of her children, explaining that while she doesn't withhold all emotional moments, she aims to shield them from extreme distress. She mentioned enjoying a "wonderful shoot" with her children while directing "Without Blood," starring Salma Hayek, in Italy.
Jolie also shared her pride in her daughter Zahara's experience at Spelman College in Atlanta, Georgia, and her initiation into the historically black sorority Alpha Kappa Alpha. "I just felt so deeply honored to be a part of it," Jolie said. "I came in knowing that she belonged and it was a special place for her. I didn’t assume I would be as welcomed and educated and supported as I was. There’s no place that would’ve been better for her - it really transformed her and it’s really a part of our family now."
In April 2024, Jolie accused Pitt of abuse in court papers related to a property dispute. These allegations echo claims made in 2022, concerning a private plane incident in 2016. Pitt has previously denied these accusations. The couple, once known as 'Brangelina,' were together from 2006, married in 2014, and split in 2016, leading to a protracted legal battle over custody and finances.
Pitt has spoken about his sobriety journey, revealing in an interview published in August that after seven years of abstaining from alcohol, he had started drinking again.
Details of the ongoing legal dispute over Chateau Miraval, the winery the former couple co-owned in the South of France, continue to emerge. Jolie sold her share of the winery in 2021, a move that Pitt has contested in court, arguing she did not obtain his consent as co-owner. Jolie has cited Pitt's acknowledged alcohol abuse as a factor in her decision to sell her stake.
