Brad Pitt and Ines de Ramon Step Out Amid News of Son Maddox Dropping Surname

Brad Pitt and his girlfriend Ines de Ramon presented an affectionate front at the world premiere of his new film, "Heart of the Beast," held Wednesday night at the FirstBank Amphitheater in Franklin, Tennessee. Pitt, 62, and Ramon, 33, were seen holding hands on the red carpet, with the actor wearing a camouflage suit that played into the military theme of his new role as a retired Special Forces officer.
The public appearance comes just days after reports emerged that Pitt's son, Maddox, 25, has legally dropped the actor's last name. A Los Angeles judge granted the name change on Monday, officially altering Maddox's name to Maddox Chivan Jolie, according to Page Six. This follows a similar action by his younger sibling Shiloh, who filed to drop the Pitt surname earlier this year. Zahara, 21, and fraternal twins Vivienne and Knox, 18, have also informally ceased using their father's surname, with plans for legal changes underway.
Maddox and his sister Zahara had previously published legal notices in the Los Angeles Daily Journal declaring their intent to drop their father's last name. Zahara has a name change hearing scheduled for September 28. Shiloh's attorney stated in July that her decision to drop the Pitt name was an "independent and significant decision following painful events" and that she was "merely following legal process."
Sources have indicated that Pitt's relationship with his older children remains strained, with reports suggesting he has virtually no contact with them. His engagement with the younger children is described as more limited in recent months due to his filming schedule.
Pitt's personal life has seen further developments with his relationship with jewelry designer Ines de Ramon. The couple was first linked in late 2022 and moved in together by early 2024. Ramon, who is nearly three decades younger than Pitt, was raised in Switzerland, with her family hailing from Spain. Her career is in the multilingual jewelry industry.
Pitt's tumultuous relationship with his ex-wife Angelina Jolie has continued to involve legal disputes, notably concerning their shared French winery, Château Miraval. Pitt alleges that Jolie sold her stake in the winery to Russian billionaire Yuri Shefler without his knowledge, violating an agreement between them. Their divorce was finalized in December 2024, eight years after splitting in 2016 following a 12-year relationship and a two-year marriage that began after they met on the set of "Mr. and Mrs. Smith."
