Boyfriend Arrested on Suspicion of Murder in Disappearance of SNL Writer's Sister

The boyfriend of an "SNL" writer's sister has been arrested on suspicion of murder in the woman's death, following her mysterious disappearance in late November 2025.

Delorean Bijon Brandon, the boyfriend of Christina Downer, 38, was arrested alongside a second suspect, Kaylee Nicole Markowski, NBC Los Angeles reported. Downer is the sister of "SNL" writer Jimmy Fowlie.

Police arrested Brandon Friday in Highland Park, and Markowski was taken into custody in Tarzana. Both are being held on $2 million bail. Investigators believe the pair may have dumped Downer's body and attempted to cover up the crime.

The development comes as authorities continue to investigate Downer's disappearance, which sparked a search and allegations that her social media accounts were compromised to conceal what happened.

Earlier this month, investigators from the Los Angeles Police Department’s Robbery-Homicide Division, along with K-9 units and the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department, searched an Airbnb property in the Joshua Tree area for evidence related to Downer's vanishing. Police did not confirm at the time if they were searching for human remains.

Downer was last heard from on Nov. 26, 2025, and was reported missing the following month. She was last seen in Los Angeles' Koreatown neighborhood. Her family expressed immediate concern, stating she would not have voluntarily gone out of contact.

Fowlie had posted on Instagram in December 2025, noting that his sister was rarely without her dog, Rex, and expressing worry about her unprecedented silence. "This is not like her, she’s never gone off the grid like this," he wrote.

In April, Fowlie announced that his family had been informed Downer was deceased, stating, "The LAPD has informed our family that Christina is no longer alive, and the case has officially transitioned from a missing person to a homicide investigation." However, the LAPD disputed this, clarifying that Downer had not been located and the case had not been reclassified as a homicide.

Fowlie also alleged that someone had taken control of his sister's phone and social media accounts in the weeks following her disappearance, possibly to solicit money and create a false narrative that she had willingly left her life behind.

An Instagram post on Downer's account on Dec. 14, 2025, stated, "Living life in peace. If you wanna send me a Christmas treat I’ll be waiting. Happy holidays everyone." Social media users questioned the post's authenticity, noting the accompanying photo appeared to be from an earlier date. Authorities have not publicly confirmed if Downer's accounts were compromised or identified the individual who posted the message.
