Boy, 7, Fatally Stabs Aunt During Argument Between Mother and Aunt

A seven-year-old boy fatally stabbed his aunt in the neck in what he described as an act to defend his mother during an argument over hair straighteners. The incident occurred in Saint-Maur-des-Fossés, France, around 4:30 a.m. on Friday.

Emergency services were alerted to a woman with a knife wound. Upon arrival, authorities found the woman on the floor with two individuals attempting to stop the bleeding. Firefighters provided initial first aid, followed by a medical team. Despite resuscitation efforts, the woman was pronounced dead at 5:17 a.m. from severe blood loss.

Initially, police pursued a man seen with a baseball bat in the vicinity, but it was determined he was not involved. He had exited his home after hearing cries for help.

The seven-year-old boy and his mother then approached authorities to explain the events. The mother stated that the altercation began in the kitchen of their apartment between herself and her sister. As the argument intensified, the child reportedly grabbed a knife and stabbed the victim in the throat.

According to the mother's account, the aunt said, "Your son stabbed me," before leaving the apartment. A source close to the case told Le Parisien that the aunt collapsed in the street after calling for help. The mother told investigators that no one else was present in the apartment at the time.

The boy has reportedly confessed to the act, telling investigators, "Yes, it's me. I don't want to go to prison. I don't want you to put my mother in prison, I defended my mum."

The mother was taken into custody, and the boy was transported to the hospital. The public prosecutor and the Departmental Service of the Judicial Police are investigating the circumstances of the crime, and the child is scheduled to be questioned.
