Boy, 11, Critically Injured in Sydney Home Shooting; Father Shares Tributes

The father of an 11-year-old boy shot inside a Sydney home has shared tributes to his son, who is currently on life support. Emergency services were called to a property in Sydney's northwest on Monday afternoon following reports of a shooting. Officers found the child with gunshot wounds to his face and neck. He was treated by paramedics and transported to hospital in a critical condition.

'RIP my baby,' the boy's father posted on Instagram on Thursday afternoon. An older relative and cousin of the boy also shared similar tributes.

Five other individuals were present at the property during the incident and were unharmed, including a 44-year-old woman believed to be the boy's mother. Three men, all aged 18, were arrested at the scene. Two were taken to The Hills Police Station and later released pending further investigation.

One of the arrested men, identified as Isaac Bechara, was taken to Riverstone Police Station and subsequently charged with concealing a serious indictable offense. His case was briefly mentioned in Blacktown Local Court on Tuesday, and he did not apply for bail. Bechara is scheduled to appear before Parramatta Local Court on October 1.

Reports indicate that the boy's father is a convicted cocaine dealer, and his former residence was the target of a drive-by shooting last year. However, New South Wales Police have stated that the current shooting does not appear to be connected.

Superintendent Naomi Moore of the Hills District Police Area Command described the situation as 'tragic' and emphasized that it was 'far too early' to determine the exact circumstances of the shooting. She assured the public that a thorough investigation would be conducted and sought to calm any fears within the community. Superintendent Moore also noted the profound distress of the boy's mother.

On the day of the incident, Superintendent Moore reported that no firearm had been recovered and no weapons were registered at the address.
