Bournemouth Sets £100 Million Price Tag for Alex Scott Amidst Chelsea and Liverpool Interest
Premier League club Bournemouth is reportedly demanding over £100 million for midfielder Alex Scott, with Chelsea and Liverpool among the clubs interested in a potential January transfer.
Bournemouth is seeking a transfer fee exceeding £100 million for Alex Scott should they decide to sell him in the January transfer window. Chelsea has been actively pursuing the England international, having had three offers rejected over the summer, with the highest reaching £68 million. Liverpool also maintains an interest in the player, as do other prominent Premier League and European clubs, though the substantial cost is expected to be a barrier for many.
Scott, 23, has expressed a desire to leave Bournemouth since declining two contract offers at the end of the previous season. While Chelsea has been encouraged to continue their pursuit, Bournemouth initially insisted Scott was not for sale. However, following further discussions with his representatives, the club is now understood to be open to sanctioning his sale if an offer in the region of £100 million is received in January.
Bournemouth's current standing in the Premier League table is also anticipated to influence any decision regarding Scott's future. The midfielder is currently sidelined for at least a month due to a thigh injury sustained during England's recent victory over Croatia. Scott's contract with Bournemouth, which he signed upon joining from Bristol City in 2023 for £25 million, has 20 months remaining.
Bournemouth is aware that Scott's market value has been increasing, particularly after his performance for England against Croatia. The club believes that the winter transfer window might present an optimal opportunity to achieve the highest possible price for the player.
