Bourbon Maker Accused of Secret Filming Removed as CEO

Wes Henderson, a prominent figure in the bourbon industry and founder of Angel's Envy, has been removed as CEO of TKC Distilling following accusations by family members of secretly filming them having sex. The lawsuit filed by relatives claims that 15 hidden cameras were discovered in Henderson's Florida home in June 2025, recording intimate acts and individuals in various states of undress.

The footage allegedly also captured Henderson engaging in sexual acts with women other than his wife, and potentially shows a homeless individual, possibly a minor, using the restroom. The family reported that upon discovering the cameras and their SD cards, they reviewed the footage before handing the devices over to the police.

According to the lawsuit, the family subsequently received permission from Henderson's wife to search their Oldham County, Kentucky home, where an additional 15 cameras were reportedly found. No criminal charges have been filed against Henderson, who is a member of the Bourbon Hall of Fame.

Henderson's legal representative issued a statement denying the allegations. "Wes unequivocally denies the allegations in the lawsuit. It is our understanding that the complaint will be voluntarily dismissed," the statement read. "If that does not happen, he is prepared to vigorously defend himself."

TKC Distilling, which owns the Kentucky Castle and True Story Whiskey, confirmed Henderson's termination and stated that his son has been appointed as the new CEO. The company has announced its own investigation into the allegations.

"The company remains committed to addressing the matter with responsibility and to ensuring that the investigation is conducted thoroughly and fairly," TKC Distilling said in a statement.

Henderson, a former firefighter, co-founded Angel's Envy before selling the brand to Bacardi Limited in 2015 for an estimated $150 million. He later purchased the Kentucky Castle for $19 million in 2023, with plans for a $92.5 million distillery that have since been put on hold. Henderson is also taking an unpaid leave of absence from his role as deputy coroner in Oldham County.
