Boris Johnson was reportedly on board a train that was evacuated due to a Russian drone strike alert near the Polish border. The former Prime Minister is understood to be unharmed.

The train halted around 5 a.m. following nearby drone attacks. Occupants of a section of the train were temporarily evacuated as a security measure prompted by an incident on the same railway line. Other trains were delayed after drones struck the locomotive of a Kyiv-Warsaw service, carrying 206 people.

Johnson and other prominent Western figures had been attending the 2026 annual meeting of the Yalta European Strategy (YES) in Kyiv. Günter Sautter, Chancellor Friedrich Merz's foreign and security-policy adviser, was also on the train. There is no indication that Johnson's train itself was hit.

According to the Russian independent news outlet Agentsvo, the strike affected a special train carrying European politicians and diplomats, occurring a day after Russian President Vladimir Putin threatened Europe with war.
