Fans across the globe will have the opportunity to watch a memorial service for the acclaimed Welsh singer Bonnie Tyler via an online broadcast. The service for family and invited guests is scheduled to take place on August 17 at St. Mary's Church in Swansea.

Tyler, born Gaynor Hopkins, passed away unexpectedly on July 8 in a hospital in Portugal at the age of 75. Her family stated that her death resulted from an illness she was being treated for. The singer, known for hits such as "Total Eclipse of the Heart," "Holding Out For A Hero," and "Here She Comes," is survived by her husband of over 50 years, Robert Sullivan.

Fans will be able to view the service live on the singer's official website. Following the service, her coffin will be taken to her hometown of Skewen in Neath Port Talbot, traveling through the village around 1:20 PM BST. An update on her website indicated that the cortege route would be made public.

Additionally, television screens will be set up outside the church to allow attendees to watch the service. Prior to the funeral, on August 15 at 3:30 PM BST, her coffin will be brought to her home in Mumbles, with those wishing to pay their respects invited to line Newton Road starting at 3:15 PM BST.

News of Tyler's passing prompted widespread tributes. Oscar-winning actress Catherine Zeta-Jones shared that her heart was "broken" by the news of the "dearest Bonnie Tyler's" death. The Prince of Wales recognized Tyler as a "proud Welsh icon," and Sir Cliff Richard expressed his mourning for a "wonderful friend gone too soon."

In May, Tyler had undergone emergency intestinal surgery in Portugal and was placed into an induced coma. Last month, her spokesperson reported that she had emerged from the coma but remained in intensive care and was "very unwell."

"Total Eclipse of the Heart," released in 1983, became her biggest hit, reaching number one on the charts in both the United States and the United Kingdom. This achievement made her the first Welsh artist to have a number one hit in the U.S.
