Bombshell Baseball Club Unites Thousands of Women, Even Rival Fans

The Bombshell Baseball Club has cultivated a thriving community of over 3,000 women who share a deep passion for Major League Baseball. Even fans of rival teams like the New York Yankees and Boston Red Sox find common ground within the club, fostering a unique camaraderie that extends beyond game days.

Founder Alley Cabral launched the group on Twitter in October 2024, initially as the Bronx Bombshells, intending it to be a space for dedicated Yankees fans. Cabral, a Bronx native, recognized a personal need for a community of female friends who shared her enthusiasm for baseball. "As a Dominican-American, baseball is my identity," Cabral told The Post. "So it was something that I had with my family and my boyfriend, but I didn’t have any girlfriends that actually enjoyed it. And I realized that if I’m feeling alone in this, there has to be other people that are."

Within a year, the club expanded its scope to include female fans of any MLB team, and the name was changed to Bombshell Baseball Club. The community comes alive during games, with members actively discussing every play in a large group chat. "Every single at bat, every out, is being talked about in that moment," Cabral said. "When the game is on, we are all talking baseball, but then it goes into girls’ families and their marriages and relationship stuff."

The club's engagement grew beyond online interactions, leading to the organization of in-person meetups. The first gathering took place at Yankee Stadium in April 2025 with eight attendees. By August of the same year, an event celebrating a Yankees hat collaboration drew over 230 fans. "Game days are crazy in the best way possible. Because just imagine 30, 40, 50 girls, all congregating in a section," Cabral described.

In June 2025, Cabral launched an official online chat platform, expanding to include dedicated channels for fans of each MLB team by August. This expansion allows any fan to connect with others who support their specific team, while a main chat provides a space for general conversation. "So any girl that’s a fan of any team can join and find girls that actually like that team too," she explained.

Cabral has since transitioned to running the club full-time, building a team of eight members across various states to help organize events nationwide. These events include stadium meetups and watch parties at local establishments. "It’s a full-fledged business right now," she stated. "The way we have income is through revenue from our events and membership. So people have the option to do a free membership, but if they want discounts to events, they have the option to purchase a membership."

Despite the presence of fans from rival teams, the club maintains a strict policy against conflict. "We have a strict ‘no fighting’ rule in our group," Cabral affirmed.
