Bollywood Actor Tiger Shroff Survives Mumbai Drive-By Shooting; Three Arrested

Police in Mumbai have arrested three suspects following a drive-by shooting targeting Bollywood actor Tiger Shroff. The 36-year-old action star was leaving a private event on Sunday evening when gunmen opened fire on his vehicle. While a gang has claimed responsibility for the attack, police stated they are still working to establish a motive.

Footage of the incident shows at least two individuals firing shots toward the front of Shroff's car as it moved slowly through a crowd. Police spokesman Mohit Garg confirmed that Shroff is safe and that multiple teams are investigating. Two other individuals, including the actor's driver, sustained injuries during the shooting, but Shroff himself was not hit.

The three arrested suspects were apprehended in Rajasthan, another Indian state. Preliminary questioning indicated that two of the suspects have prior cases against them, one for theft and the other under the Arms Act, according to police spokesman Tejaswani Gautam.

Tiger Shroff is known for his roles in action films such as the "Baaghi" franchise and "War." He made his acting debut in 2014 and is the son of veteran Bollywood actor Jackie Shroff. Shroff also has a background in professional football, having debuted for Mumbay FC in October 2024. The shooting occurred as he was leaving a football ground.

Mumbai, India's financial hub, is also the center of the country's Hindi-language film industry, known as Bollywood.

This incident follows the shooting death of a senior Indian politician, Baba Siddique, 66, in Mumbai in October 2024. Siddique, who had close ties to Bollywood and was a member of the Indian National Congress party before recently joining a regional party, was killed outside his son's office. He had reportedly received death threats prior to his assassination. Maharashtra's deputy chief minister Sunetra Pawar condemned the attack and vowed a thorough investigation.
