Bodycam Footage Shows Moment Police Arrest Suspect in CEO's Killing

Newly released bodycam footage captures the moment law enforcement officers identified and apprehended Luigi Mangione, the suspect in the killing of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson. The video shows police realizing they had tracked down Mangione after a five-day manhunt.

"It's f--king him dude," a male officer is heard saying in the footage as a female officer retrieves a magazine of bullets from Mangione's backpack. The arrest occurred in Altoona, Pennsylvania, on December 9, 2024.

These portions of the bodycam video were previously shown during a court hearing but have now been made public following a ruling by a Manhattan judge. Mangione, 28, was sought in connection with the shooting death of Thompson, which took place in Manhattan.

Mangione has since pleaded guilty to federal stalking charges related to Thompson's death. He has also filed a motion requesting that his state murder case be dismissed, citing double jeopardy protections following his federal plea.
