A body has been recovered in the search for a 13-year-old boy who went missing off the East Yorkshire coast on Tuesday. Emergency services were alerted to the South Promenade in Hornsea around 6 p.m. BST following reports that the teenager had encountered trouble while swimming.

An extensive search operation was conducted, involving HM Coastguard, Yorkshire Ambulance Service, and Humberside Fire and Rescue. Crews from Hornsea Inshore Rescue and the Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI) also participated in the effort.

Chief Superintendent Phil Booker described the outcome as "incredibly heartbreaking" and extended condolences to the boy's family and friends during this difficult time.
