Body Found in Search for Marcus Rashford's Family Friend in Colombia

A body has been discovered in Colombia during the search for Anton Green, 43, a British man and family friend of Manchester United footballer Marcus Rashford, who had been missing for two months.

Green, who had been living in Colombia for three years, was reported missing in August when he ceased responding to messages. His family stated this lack of contact was highly uncharacteristic for him. The body of the 43-year-old, originally from Manchester, has now been found, his family has been informed.

Green is the brother of Ro-shaun Williams, a former Manchester United youth team defender. Rashford had previously shared an appeal for information about Green on social media, referring to him as a "family friend."

Fluent in Spanish, Green had reportedly settled near the capital, Bogotá, after developing an affinity for the country's culture during travels. His family last heard from him on August 5, with his mother, Nylva McKie-Williams, recalling his last words to her were that they would speak over the weekend.

His sister, Sian Tuohey, mentioned that Green had experienced mental health difficulties around the same time the previous year and that his disappearance was out of character. The family believed he may have been in the Fontibón and Mesitas del Colegio areas before he went missing and had potentially planned to travel to neighboring Ecuador. Green is described as dark-skinned, approximately 5 feet 6 inches tall, with short afro hair.

A Foreign Office spokesperson confirmed that they are supporting the family of a British man who died in Colombia and are in contact with local authorities.
