Body Found in NYC Trash Bag by Scavenger

A discovery made by a homeless man seeking scrap metal led to the identification of a deceased individual stuffed inside a garbage bag in Brooklyn. The man found the bag outside a church and dragged it to the corner of East 93rd Street and Avenue L in Canarsie, where he opened it around 9:20 a.m. and found the body. Authorities and sources confirmed the contents of the bag also included wires and pieces of scrap metal.

City Sanitation Department members alerted the 911 emergency services, prompting a response from first responders. The man was pronounced dead at the scene by emergency personnel. The city's medical examiner's office will determine the official cause of death. As of this report, no arrests have been made in connection with the incident.
