Body Found in NYC Subway Utility Closet

An MTA track worker discovered the body of a man, believed to be in his 20s or 30s, inside a utility closet in a New York City subway tunnel on Saturday morning. The discovery was made around 11 a.m. near the 125th Street and Lexington Avenue station in East Harlem, on the downtown side of the No. 6 line, approximately 100 feet north of the station.

A source familiar with the investigation indicated that the remains appeared to have been in the closet for at least several days. Emergency medical services declared the individual dead at the scene. His identity remains unknown, and police stated there were no obvious signs of trauma on the body. Authorities do not suspect foul play, and the cause of death will be determined by the Office of the City Medical Examiner.
