At least one person has died following a boat capsizing in the San Francisco Bay, prompting a large-scale rescue operation. Emergency crews are on the scene in the waters between Alcatraz Island and the Golden Gate Bridge.
Video footage circulating online depicts rescue personnel attempting to assist individuals in the water. A photographer present at the scene confirmed that at least one fatality occurred.
This incident follows a capsized sailboat earlier in the week off the San Mateo County coast, which also resulted in a rescue of three sailors who had ended up in the water.
