Blue Ivy Towers Over Beyoncé at Houston Youth Center Opening

Beyoncé’s 14-year-old daughter, Blue Ivy, appeared to tower over her mother at a ribbon-cutting ceremony in Houston, Texas, on Tuesday.

Blue Ivy and her 9-year-old sister, Rumi, joined Beyoncé at the event to celebrate the opening of the Knowles-Rowland House, a youth center.

The teen wore a jersey top, belted jeans, and pumps for the occasion, marking her first public appearance in several months. Her mother, Beyoncé, wore a tan dress, while Rumi opted for a black dress with a cardigan and sneakers.

Also present on stage was Beyoncé’s mother, Tina Knowles, and fellow Destiny’s Child member Kelly Rowland.

The Knowles-Rowland House, which provides housing for chronically homeless individuals, was originally established as the Knowles-Rowland Center for Youth in 1999. The center was later renovated into 31 supportive housing units after sustaining damage from Hurricane Harvey in 2017 and a subsequent fire.

It remains unclear if Jay-Z and their 9-year-old son, Sir, were in attendance.

Blue Ivy, born in January 2012, has made several notable public appearances this year. She attended the Met Gala with her mother in May and the Super Bowl with her father in February. In April, she was seen in Paris wearing a shirt featuring her own image, and in June, she sported a hairstyle similar to one of Beyoncé's signature looks while in New York City.

More recently, Blue Ivy made a surprise appearance at Jay-Z's July concert celebrating the 30th anniversary of his album "Reasonable Doubt" at Yankee Stadium. She played the piano during her father's performance of the song "Feelin’ It."

Jay-Z commented on Blue Ivy’s musical abilities in a March interview with GQ, stating she has perfect pitch and can teach herself songs after hearing them. He jokingly added that he and Beyoncé might struggle to keep their daughter off the stage in the future.

Blue Ivy has also performed as a dancer during her mother's "Renaissance" and "Cowboy Carter" tours in previous years.
