Blue Ivy, 14, made a surprise appearance on stage alongside her father, Jay-Z, during his sold-out concert in Los Angeles on Friday. The performance took place at SoFi Stadium and marked the 30th anniversary of Jay-Z's debut album, "Reasonable Doubt," and the 25th anniversary of "The Blueprint."
Jay-Z, who shares Blue Ivy with his wife Beyoncé, was joined by the teenager as she played the keyboard during his performances of "The Story of OJ" and "Dead Presidents." Blue Ivy wore a red, blue, and white jacket with trousers and brown boots.
Beyoncé was also in attendance, cheering on her husband and daughter from a VIP suite. Videos shared on social media showed her grooving to the music and reuniting with former Destiny's Child members Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams. Beyoncé was dressed in a pink-patterned top and a green-tasseled skirt.
Other notable artists, including John Legend and DJ Khaled, also joined Jay-Z on stage during the concert. The rapper has been on his "30 Years of Jay-Z" tour, with previous stops including Yankee Stadium in New York and venues in London and Saint-Denis, France. He is scheduled to perform again at SoFi Stadium on October 24.
This is not Blue Ivy's first foray into performing. She previously showcased her dance skills during Beyoncé's Renaissance and Cowboy Carter tours. In 2024, she performed with her mother during Netflix's Christmas Day NFL Halftime Show. Blue Ivy also lent her voice to the character of Princess Kiara in the 2024 Disney film "Mufasa: The Lion King."
Last July, during Jay-Z's tour stop at Yankee Stadium, both Blue Ivy and Beyoncé made surprise appearances on stage. Blue Ivy accompanied her father to perform "Feelin' It" and played the piano, while Beyoncé joined him for "Can't Knock the Hustle." When asked about his daughter's performance at the time, Jay-Z responded with a smile, "You said it. That ain't even a question."
Jay-Z has previously spoken about Blue Ivy's musical abilities, noting in a March interview with GQ that she is a "crazy pianist" who can teach herself songs after hearing them. He expressed pride in her dedication, stating, "I don't think we're going to be able to get her off that stage now."
Beyoncé told GQ in 2024 that her daughter is a natural artist with a great sense of taste in music and fashion, describing her as a "fantastic editor, painter, and actress." She added that Blue Ivy "took it seriously, and she earned it. And most importantly, she had fun!" Rumors have also surfaced that Blue Ivy is considering a music career, with unconfirmed reports of writers preparing demos for a potential solo album.
