Blake Lively Tries Red Light Therapy Helmet for Hair Growth

Blake Lively recently shared her experience with a red-light therapy helmet designed for hair growth. The actress posted to her Instagram Stories, showing herself using the iRestore Professional device, a piece of technology that utilizes red light therapy to encourage hair growth and increase density.

Lively humorously captioned her post, "If I don’t look like I’m in the first trimester of life after this much effort, I quit," adding, "Natural beauty is effortless." She also reflected on simpler beauty routines from the past, mentioning the 2000s when "we just used that handsoap with fish characters on it on our face & called it a day."

The iRestore Professional helmet is priced at $799 and is advertised to help naturally thicken hair strands and boost overall hair growth. According to the manufacturer, the device is FDA-cleared for at-home use, with a recommended treatment of 25 minutes three times per week. The helmet is designed to cover the entire scalp, targeting inactive hair follicles on the hairline, temples, and crown. The treatment is described as non-invasive, drug-free, and painless, employing Lumitech red light therapy through 282 laser and LED diodes.

This approach to hair care has gained traction among celebrities. Hudson Williams has previously featured iRestore’s Essential helmet in his beauty routine videos, expressing concerns about age-related hair changes. Additionally, Courteney Cox has been seen using the HigherDose Red Light Hat, and Naomi Watts utilizes the Laduora Duo 4-in-1 Scalp & Hair Care Device. Watts' hairstylist, Robert Vetica, told InStyle that after five months of Watts using the Laduora device daily, there was a reported 25 to 30 percent increase in her hair growth and density.

While red light masks for facial skincare have been prominent, scalp treatment devices are emerging as a notable trend in beauty technology for the current season, with celebrity endorsements potentially driving their popularity.
