Blake Lively was seen in New York City on Tuesday, September 1, 2026, following recent public commentary from Candace Owens. The actress, 39, was photographed delivering coffee to her husband, Ryan Reynolds, 49, outside his car. Lively wore a grey knit cardigan and matching skirt, accessorized with a burgundy suede Chanel bucket bag and mesh ballet flats.

Her appearance came shortly after Owens, 37, posted a selfie on social media with actor Justin Baldoni, 42, referencing a chance encounter in Iceland. Owens captioned the post with the hashtag #Cousins, aligning herself with Baldoni amid his legal disputes with Lively. Owens also used Taylor Swift's song "My Tears Ricochet" in her Instagram Story post, a track that featured in the film "It Ends With Us," in which Lively and Baldoni starred together. Lively and Swift were previously close friends before a public falling out.

Legal Fee Ruling

The public exchange occurred days after a New York judge ruled that Lively would receive only a fraction of the legal fees she sought following her legal battle with Baldoni. The court awarded Lively approximately $400,000 out of the $8 million she requested to cover her legal expenses.

The judge cited "unreasonable" hours billed by Lively's legal team and "discrepancies" in her expense claims. The final awarded amount for attorneys' fees and costs was $363,245.40 and $44,206.35, respectively.

Lively initially sued Baldoni and his production company, Wayfarer Studios, in December 2024, alleging sexual harassment on the set of "It Ends With Us" and defamation. Baldoni responded in January 2025 with a $400 million defamation lawsuit against Lively, Reynolds, and The New York Times, which had published Lively's claims.

A judge dismissed Baldoni's case in October 2025. In May 2026, after most of Lively's claims were dismissed, she agreed to settle her lawsuit. However, she subsequently filed court documents seeking to recoup her legal expenses, totaling over $7.5 million from two law firms, an amount increased by approximately $300,000 due to costs from a June 1 hearing.

"It Ends With Us" grossed $148 million domestically and $350 million globally, but its box office success was overshadowed by the allegations made by its stars.
