Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds were not among the guests at Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce's wedding ceremony held on July 3. A source close to Swift told Page Six that the singer is currently prioritizing trusted individuals who bring her peace, suggesting a significant rift in her friendship with Lively.

"Taylor's in a different place now and she just wants to be around people she trusts and who bring her peace," the source stated. "It's a shame because she and Blake really were close, but she doesn't think it's something that's going to be fixed. As far as [Taylor's] concerned, their friendship is done."

Last month, Page Six exclusively reported that Lively did not receive an invitation to the event. The source indicated that Swift initially believed she and Lively could reconcile their differences after a period of calm. However, ongoing issues complicated their relationship.

"It wasn't one big thing, it was everything adding up. By the time Taylor was making decisions about the wedding and who she wanted there, she realized she just didn't want that kind of energy around something so important and it really was a turning point for her," the insider explained. The source suggested that wedding planning acted as a "turning point" for Swift in reassessing her social circle.

Lively, 38, and Reynolds, 49, were photographed attending their daughter Betty's horse show in Lake Placid, New York, on the same evening as Swift and Kelce's rehearsal dinner. Betty, 6, reportedly placed second in the competition.

Swift and Kelce, both 36, exchanged vows at Madison Square Garden in New York City. Notable attendees included Gigi Hadid, Bradley Cooper, Dakota Johnson, Swift's publicist Tree Paine, and childhood friend Abigail Anderson. Machine Gun Kelly, Kelsea Ballerini, Erin Andrews, Eric Stonestreet and his wife Lindsay Schweitzer, and Benson Boone were also present.

The estrangement between Swift and Lively reportedly began in 2025 when Swift became involved in Lively's legal dispute with actor Justin Baldoni. In January 2025, Baldoni filed a $400 million lawsuit against Lively, Reynolds, and their publicist, alleging defamation, extortion, and other claims. The lawsuit was dismissed in June of the same year.

During the legal proceedings, Baldoni presented text messages between Lively and Swift. In one message, Lively described her "dragons" and referred to Swift and Reynolds as her "most trusted partners."

In May 2025, Swift was subpoenaed to testify in the legal battle, but Baldoni later withdrew the subpoena. Additional private text messages between Swift and Lively were revealed in court documents in January, with Swift reportedly calling Baldoni a "bitch" in one message.

The two women, who had been friends since 2015, also discussed Swift potentially endorsing Lively's revised script for "It Ends With Us." Lively was also absent from Swift's pre-wedding bachelorette festivities in June.

Swift is also a godparent to Lively and Reynolds' four children. The last public sighting of the two women together was in 2024.
