Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds were seen together in New York City on Friday, marking their first public appearance since a judge ruled on the actress's legal fee recovery from a settlement with Justin Baldoni. Lively was accompanied by her older half-sister, Robyn Lively.
Lively, 39, was seen in a brown ensemble featuring overalls, boots, and a gold necklace, while Robyn Lively, 54, wore denim. Ryan Reynolds, 49, maintained a more stoic expression during the outing. The family outing occurred shortly after a New York judge determined that Lively would receive only a small portion of the legal fees she requested following her legal dispute with Baldoni.
A judge ruled that Lively would be awarded $363,245.40 in attorneys' fees and $44,206.35 in costs. This decision came after Lively sought to recoup approximately $8.3 million in legal expenses. The judge deemed the hours billed by Lively's lawyers as 'unreasonable' and noted 'discrepancies' in the claimed expenses.
The legal proceedings stemmed from Lively suing Baldoni and his Wayfarer Studios in December 2024 for alleged sexual harassment and defamation on the set of their film, "It Ends With Us." Baldoni subsequently filed a $400 million defamation lawsuit against Lively, Reynolds, and The New York Times in January 2025.
In October 2025, a judge dismissed Baldoni's case. Later, in May of this year, a judge dismissed most of Lively's claims, and the parties agreed to settle the case without any money changing hands. However, Lively's subsequent filing to recover legal expenses led to the recent ruling on fees.
"It Ends With Us" grossed $148 million domestically and $350 million globally. The film's financial success was overshadowed by the allegations made by its stars during the legal battle.
