Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds were observed in New York City this week, marking a public appearance amid a period they are reportedly calling a "public comeback." The couple, who have been married since 2012, were seen leaving their apartment, each carrying a distinctive Hermes handbag. Lively, 38, carried a purple Hermes Togo Birkin 25, with an estimated resale value of around $68,000. Reynolds, 49, was seen with a black Hermes Togo Birkin 50, valued at approximately $56,800.

Lively's recent public activities include an appearance at the World Cup Final in New Jersey approximately two weeks prior, an event she documented on her social media. Reynolds, however, attended Fanatics Fest in New York City during that same period.

The couple's outing follows the settlement of a lawsuit involving actor Justin Baldoni. Lively and Baldoni settled their legal dispute in May, ahead of a scheduled trial. Baldoni and his wife, Emily, recently broke their nearly two-year silence on the matter in an Instagram video. They stated that the lawsuit stemmed from "untruthful" claims they alleged caused them "pain." The couple indicated they had allowed the legal system to run its course and that "the truth, and the facts, have spoken for themselves."

Following the lawsuit settlement, Lively has reportedly requested that Baldoni cover her legal fees, which are stated to be just over $8 million. Attorneys for Baldoni have alleged that Lively's legal fees were "excessive" and that she was seeking an "exorbitant" amount.

Separately, earlier this week, it was reported that Baldoni has been ordered to pay The New York Times $171,000 in damages following a defamation lawsuit. Baldoni had sued the publication over a December 2024 story. A judge had dismissed Baldoni's lawsuit against The New York Times in June 2025.

In related personal news, the couple were reportedly not invited to Taylor Swift's recent wedding. Swift and Lively have been friends for many years. Sources indicated that Lively was disappointed to be excluded from the event, especially given their history. Swift's wedding took place on July 3. At that time, Lively and Reynolds were reportedly in Lake Placid, New York.
