Binky Felstead Relocates Family to Connecticut to Support Husband's Career

Reality television personality Binky Felstead has confirmed her family's permanent relocation to Connecticut, U.S., to support her husband Max Darnton's professional endeavors. The move involves Felstead, her two sons Wolfie, five, and Wilder, three, and her daughter India, nine, whom she shares custody with ex-partner Joshua Patterson.

Felstead announced the decision via an Instagram post, stating, "A new adventure as a family in America. After an incredible summer of exploring the East coast, we are very happy to now call this place home." She added that while there will be frequent travel between the U.S. and the UK for family and work, the transition felt natural. Darnton has been increasing his presence at his New York office, and the family enjoyed their previous visits to the city.

Educational and Professional Motivations

A significant factor in choosing Connecticut was the availability of specialized support for India's dyslexia. Felstead reported finding an exceptional school that has already made a positive impact on her daughter's learning and confidence.

"Seeing her understand things in a way that works for her, and watching that confidence start to grow, has made the whole move feel so worthwhile," Felstead wrote. She also noted the "noticeable buzz of positivity, motivation, ambition and drive" in the U.S., observing that "Confidence, hard work and success is celebrated and we love the children having that exposure."

Felstead's husband, Max Darnton, a figure in the executive search and advisory firm Fredriks, has relocated full-time to the company's New York office to expand business connections. He had previously divided his time between Manhattan and London. The family will reside in Connecticut, allowing Darnton to commute.

Family and Co-Parenting

Felstead has shared glimpses of their new life in Connecticut, including their rental home which features a hot tub and extensive grounds. The family has also been joined by their dog, Pedro.

The move comes after Felstead and her ex-partner Joshua Patterson received praise for their co-parenting dynamic during a joint visit to the U.S. with India and Felstead's younger sons. Photos shared on social media depicted a positive and friendly family interaction, drawing commendations from fans for their approach.

Felstead's departure from London, where she owned a renovated home valued at £3.6 million, marks a significant lifestyle change. Her previous reality show, "Beyond Chelsea," which focuses on the lives of Felstead and fellow stars Lucy Watson and Rosie Fortescue, may face uncertainty due to her relocation.
