Billy Ray Cyrus and Elizabeth Hurley Hint at Engagement
The actress shared a photo of a prominent diamond ring, while Cyrus posted a ring emoji, further fueling engagement rumors.
Elizabeth Hurley has fueled speculation that she is engaged to country singer Billy Ray Cyrus, after sharing a photo on Instagram that showed her wearing a large diamond on her left ring finger. Cyrus, meanwhile, posted a ring emoji on his social media.
Hurley's son, Damian, who is 24, reacted to Cyrus's post with a celebratory emoji, a gesture that a source told the Daily Mail suggests the engagement is genuine. "It’s unlikely Damian would react like that if it wasn’t true. He adores Billy and is very happy his mother is so happy," the source said.
Representatives for the couple have not yet commented on the engagement rumors, which were first reported by the New York Post.
This would be the fourth marriage for Cyrus, 65, known for his hit song "Achy Breaky Heart." For Hurley, 61, it would be her second marriage. She was previously married to Indian businessman Arun Nayar from 2007 to 2011. Her past relationships include a long-term romance with Hugh Grant and an engagement to Australian cricketer Shane Warne.
Hurley and Cyrus met in 2022 on the set of the film "Christmas In Paradise" and began dating at the start of the following year. Hurley described their connection to SheerLuxe podcast, noting shared experiences as lifelong travelers and city dwellers who had moved away from urban life.
Reports suggest Hurley is currently filming "The Burbs," a comedy-mystery drama series, leading some to believe the ring might be a prop, though a source close to the actress indicated this is unlikely.
The apparent engagement news follows controversy surrounding Cyrus's recent divorce from singer Firerose, whose real name is Johanna Hodges. Hodges had accused Cyrus of emotional abuse and issued a warning to Hurley. Cyrus has denied these allegations.
