Bill O'Reilly Suggests Ilhan Omar Raid Was Politically Motivated

Former Fox News host Bill O'Reilly has acknowledged that Democrats' assertions of political motivation behind the raid on Rep. Ilhan Omar's home are likely accurate.

"They're probably right," O'Reilly stated during a NewsNation appearance with former colleague Katie Pavlich. He further commented, "The Trump administration doesn't like Congresswoman Omar at all."

The investigation into the Minnesota congresswoman reportedly centers on allegations that she misrepresented her birthdate in 2000 to improperly obtain citizenship as a minor. O'Reilly characterized this alleged infraction as minor, suggesting it might not progress if it is solely a date discrepancy.

"If it's just a date problem, then that's not going anywhere," O'Reilly said. He added that if Omar committed any offense, "she should be held to account," but questioned its potential impact on the upcoming midterm elections.

Pavlich noted that several of Omar's family members had been subpoenaed in the days leading up to the raid. O'Reilly described Omar as "a radical leftist who will change every facet of this country if she could," while declining to speculate on the precise motivations behind the probe.

Sources have indicated to CNN that aspects of the investigation may have begun under the Biden administration in 2018 and are now being re-examined. CNN Legal Analyst Elie Honig pointed out that a judge issued a search warrant based on probable cause, suggesting a crime may have been committed. Honig also noted that the investigation's origins under the previous administration could complicate claims of political targeting, while acknowledging that former President Donald Trump has provided Omar with ample reason to argue she is being singled out.

Rep. Omar, a U.S. citizen originally from Somalia, has publicly denounced the search as an act of "political intimidation" and denied any wrongdoing. She is currently seeking reelection in Minnesota, where early voting has commenced.
