Bill Clinton Celebrates 80th Birthday in NYC
Former President joined by Hillary Clinton and allies for a celebratory bash.
Bill Clinton marked his 80th birthday with a celebration attended by Hillary Clinton and numerous political allies at Hill Country in Manhattan.
The event, which also honored the work of the Clinton Foundation and CGI, was described by an attendee as a "reunion of the Clinton White House."
More than 300 guests filled the restaurant, which was fully booked for the occasion. The former president and his wife circulated through the room, greeting attendees.
The celebration coincided with the upcoming reopening of Hill Country on October 1, featuring a refreshed menu while retaining its classic Texas-style barbecue offerings.
In other sightings, Cynthia Erivo made a surprise performance at Lincoln Center Theater during an event for chef Kwame Onwuachi's new cookbook, "All Hours." The performance included a rendition of Prince's "Nothing Compares 2 U," and Erivo also participated in a conversation about cooking and the impact of "Wicked."
The event, presented by Resy in partnership with FreshDirect, also featured appearances by Anthony Ramos, Questlove, Yvonne Orji, and others. Ramos engaged in a quiz about New York City history, while Questlove answered questions about music history.
Elsewhere, director Josef Kubota Wladyk celebrated the screening of his Sundance-winning film “Ha-Chan, Shake Your Booty!” at Lincoln Center. Attendees included film star Alberto Guerra, Michelle Monaghan, Prabal Gurung, and Amita Rao.
Sienna Miller and Dominic West attended the premiere of HBO's new series, “War,” at the Perelman Performing Arts Center.
The Metropolitan Opera commenced its 141st season with an opening-night performance of “Macbeth.” The audience included notable figures such as Katie Holmes, Frances McDormand, Joel Coen, Maggie Gyllenhaal, Sigourney Weaver, Chelsea Handler, and Ariana DeBose.
Additionally, Angela Bassett, Sarah Paulson, Billie Lourd, Jessica Lange, and Ryan Murphy were present at the Chelsea Hotel for the Season 13 premiere of “American Horror Story.”
Last Friday, Scarlett Johansson and Colin Jost attended the opening night of the New York Film Festival at Lincoln Center’s Alice Tully Hall for the screening of their crime thriller, “Paper Tiger.” Johansson's co-stars Adam Driver and Miles Teller were also in attendance for the film, directed by James Gray.
