'Big Brother 28' Star Barrett Pfeiffer Defends His Head of Household Reign
Pfeiffer argues that evicting Angela Murray was a strategic move, despite failing to target 'Survivor' alums.
Barrett Pfeiffer, a contestant on "Big Brother 28," has defended his recent Head of Household (HOH) reign, asserting that it was not a "waste" despite his failure to eliminate one of the "Survivor" alums, Dee Valladares and Rick Devens. Pfeiffer was evicted shortly after sending home fellow contestant Angela Murray.
"I think it’s easy to say that my HOH was a waste with Angela [Murray] going home as opposed to a ‘Survivor’ going home," Pfeiffer, 28, told Page Six in an exclusive interview. "But at the same time, ‘Big Brother’ is a numbers game and getting rid of a number in a trio that was the ‘Icons’ is still a big deal."
Pfeiffer explained that while Valladares and Devens were not evicted, Murray's departure still represented a significant blow to their alliance, known as "The Crossovers." He noted that Murray was a key member of their intended final five.
"They did lose a number. Angela was a block for them in the final eight, going into final seven," he stated. "And ‘The Crossovers’ was, to them, a solidified final five in the final eight."
He further elaborated that removing Murray lessened the opposing alliance's chances in future competitions. "So I think definitely it was not a waste, because it took away one of their numbers, and it could have completely reformed the game going forward with going against the ‘Icons’ and getting them out one by one, because it lessened their chance of winning any competition."
Pfeiffer's strategy, however, was ultimately undermined by Valladares using the "BB Bribe" power. Valladares paid $5,000 to block Patel from nominating any of the "Icons," effectively derailing Pfeiffer's plans.
Previously, Murray had expressed disappointment with Pfeiffer's decision, telling Page Six that he would "regret" betraying their alliance. She also predicted his imminent eviction, stating he was "public enemy No. 1."
"Big Brother 28" airs Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays at 8 p.m. ET on CBS and streams the following day on Paramount+.
