Big Black, Wack Pack Member, Dies at 64

Ronnie Benjamin, known widely as Big Black and a former member of Howard Stern's Wack Pack, has died at the age of 64. The New York City Medical Examiner’s Office informed TMZ that the cause of death was arteriosclerotic cardiovascular disease, classifying it as natural.

Benjamin, a native of the Bronx, joined Stern's Wack Pack in 2006. He was known for his intellectual discussions, being a Mensa member, and his banter with Stern’s co-host Robin Quivers. He first gained prominence on Stern’s show through multiple lengthy interviews.

In a 2011 appearance on the show, Benjamin provided an update on his life after a five-year absence. He mentioned working briefly in security at Yankee Stadium and collecting unemployment. At the time, he stated he was making YouTube videos to publicize himself and shared personal anecdotes, including rating his first sexual experience as a “7 or so” and noting that the woman involved did not agree to a second date. He also expressed feelings of isolation, saying, “Right now, I’d say I have no friends,” and concluding, “I hate the world, man. That’s how it is.”

A representative for Howard Stern did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
